The Jacksonville Pilots started the 2065 season win an impressive 6-2 win against the Bloomington Blazers at Arnold Field. Jonathan Millsap led the way for Jacksonville. Jacksonville reliever Luis Moreno was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Chris Maloney.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Sam Corson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Bloomington pitcher Chris Maloney, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Jacksonville on top, 3-2.

Corson told a Jacksonville Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
