Warriors Stumble Again, Lose, 7-3
|
The Bloomington Blazers extended their winning streak.
The Bloomington Blazers beat the Walnut Creek Warriors, 7-3, at Castlerock Field. Bloomington designated hitter Josh Henricks had an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Brad Meyer got the win, improving to 15-10. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 2.
Bloomington needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Batista to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blazers on top, 6-3. For the game, Batista had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Walnut Creek skipper Román Cruz.
Walnut Creek is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
