When the games really matter, the Bloomington Blazers put on their best show, beating the Cabo San Lucas Toreros by a final score of 1-0 today. Ruben Cahue earned player of the game honors, as he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Bloomington now leads Cabo San Lucas 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Bloomington used the timely hitting of Justin Friend to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blazers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Cahue. "I just want to win ballgames."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Alexis Anguiano for Bloomington and Jorge Gutierrez for Cabo San Lucas.
