Otters Get One-Run Win at Lake Erie
|
Lake Erie pitcher Jaden Thurmond gave the Otters all they could handle, but in the end, Evansville left Warcats Ballpark with a 2-1 win. Thurmond allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 5 innings. Evansville has 3 straight wins, Lake Erie 3 straight losses.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Otters sent 22-year-old second baseman Ryan Graham to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, to put Evansville on top, 2-1.
"We found a way to get it done," Graham said.
