Beach Bums Beat Stogies 3-1 to Start R2
|
With first baseman Michael Bryant leading the charge, the Traverse City Beach Bums got a road win over the Havana Stogies, 3-1, in Game 1 of the Round 2 today. Bryant was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice at The Humidor to help Traverse City take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
In the top of the sixth of a scoreless game, Bryant hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bryant. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Humidor in Havana.
