In a low-scoring contest, Bloomington pitcher Ruben Cahue was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Bloomington reliever Jimmy Sherry picked up the win, upping his record to 9-7. Willie Arredondo was saddled with the loss. The Blazers have now won 4 straight.

Bloomington won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Willie Arredondo on the mound for Vancouver, designated hitter Tony Mascorro hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Blazers fans to their feet.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Mascorro.
