Flash Fall Short at San Jose
The San Jose Marshals wiggled past the Fairfield Flash, 9-8, at The Corral. San Jose third baseman Toshihisa Higgins earned player of the game honors. The win brings the Marshals to 18-9, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Higgins had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 12th. On a 1-0 fastball from Miguel Torres, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Marshals a 9-8 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Higgins.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Higgins. "I like it."
