The Hawaii Honu had to overcome a fine performance from Seattle pitcher Koichi Murakami to grab a 3-2 win at Aloha Stadium. Murakami allowed 2 runs over 8 innings. Tom Mitcham notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. With the loss, Seattle falls to 9-8.

Hawaii won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With two outs and Nate Wesson on the mound for Seattle, right fielder Tom Welsh hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Honu fans to their feet.

"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Welsh said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
