Cacti Roll Over Hitmen, 10-1
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 31-year old right fielder Jason Valentine, the Albuquerque Cacti stopped the Calgary Hitmen, 10-1. The first-place Cacti are now 21-15, the Hitmen 17-19.

The result might have been different for Albuquerque, had it not been for Jonathan Grindstaff. The catcher produced a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cacti ahead, 3-1. For the game, Grindstaff had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

In postgame comments to the Albuquerque Chronicle, Valentine said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
