Matter Pops Two Homers in 3-1 Win for Hawaii
The Hawaii Honu and Loachapoka Junebugs played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

Brian Matter knocked in all 3 runs for the Hawaii Honu, helping them beat the Loachapoka Junebugs, 3-1. Billy Gouin, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Junebugs to 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 3. Pat Rock was credited with the save for Hawaii, his 1st of the season.

Hawaii took a 3-1 lead on Matter's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Angel Zapata in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Hawaii to the win.

Matter said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.

Hawaii is now 1-2.
