Mettlen Socks Ridge Runners in 9-1 Stogies Win
A good performance from center fielder Erik Mettlen helped the Havana Stogies defeat the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 9-1. Mettlen was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Stogies. Eagle Rock falls to 16-14.

Yodo Hamamoto had a big 3-run home run for the Stogies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Havana leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Jesse Hemmelgarn and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Stogies on top, 5-0.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Paco Berroa.
