Down Goes Pennsylvania, 7-4, to Chicago
|
The home team gave the crowd at Millennium Field something to cheer about.
The Chicago Eclipse withstood a fine game by Pennsylvania center fielder Bill Shook at Millennium Field, to upend the Butterflies, 7-4. Shook went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Picking up his 6th save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Umlah.
Sean Martineau had a big 3-run home run for the Eclipse in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Marasco and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Eclipse on top, 7-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Martineau.
With the win, Chicago improves its record to 16-16.
