Another day, another victory for the red-hot Eureka Hornets.
The Eureka Hornets picked up a win at The Nest, knocking off the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 3-1. On the mound for Eureka was right-hander Bobby Loscalzo. He played a key role in the triumph. Matt Acrey closed it out for his 7th save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Jason Leffert didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Eagle Rock trailing 3-1, Leffert retired Alex Madera to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Leffert, with a wink.
Eureka has won 9 straight, while Eagle Rock has lost 3 in a row.
