Mexico City Gets 6-4 Win
|
Jonathan Sibiga left his imprint on the 6-4 Mexico City win against the Eureka Hornets. Sibiga, who leads the RCL in bases on balls with 27, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Juan Recio, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-5. Dan Wallace closed it out for Mexico City, earning his 10th save.
Kevin Stark was 1-3 with a walk for Mexico City. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Jonathan Ortiz. It was his 8th hit of the season.
Mexico City manager Tewolde Ojo called it "a darn good win."
The third-place Luchadores improved to 19-21.
