The Jacksonville Pilots knocked off the San Francisco Earthquakes, 4-3, in Thurman Munson League action at Arnold Field. Jacksonville pitcher and Mandeville, Jamaica, native Lewis Peterson had an outstanding performance. Peterson picked up the win for Jacksonville, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Kelvin Tolmie closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Sam Corson, the 22nd overall pick in the 2061 draft, chipped in a solo home run for Jacksonville in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Peterson. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
The loss drops the Earthquakes to 0-5.
