Tornadoes Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes got a magnificent performance from pitcher B.J. Bichler, who muffled the Quebec offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Tornadoes win at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Bichler, now 4-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The win puts Kansas City at 29-20 this season.
Kansas City used a clutch at-bat from Victor Navedo to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tornadoes ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Quebec manager Rod Cirilo. "Obviously."
