Popper Stars in 9-6 Loss to Montreal
The Montreal Jazz besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Jacksonville third baseman John Popper by beating the Pilots, 9-6, at Stade Claude Raymond. Popper was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Wolde-Selassie Ndegwa earned the save for Montreal. The slumping Pilots have lost 6 straight.

Bob Enriquez took Jacksonville hurler B.J. Tourtelotte deep in the bottom of the third. His grand slam home run put the Jazz on top, 4-3. In all, Enriquez had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
