Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Quebec Armada were eager to watch Raul Padilla square off against Bryan Stanford of the visiting Havana Stogies. In the end, the Stogies won the game, 5-1, with Bryan Stanford leading the way.

The Stogies got a big at-bat from third baseman Yodo Hamamoto. For the game, Hamamoto went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Havana a 1-0 lead.

"I had everything working," said Stanford.
