The exploits of right fielder Jonathan Schimmel, who finished 5th in the TML in on-base percentage with .412 last year, helped the Buffalo Bison defeat the Chicago Eclipse, 8-1. Schimmel was 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the win over Chicago, the Bison improved to 27-28.

Buffalo used the hitting of Mace Kota to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bison on top, 3-0. For the game, Kota had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
