The Buffalo Bison beat the Chicago Eclipse, 7-5, at Millennium Field. Buffalo shortstop Mace Kota led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Waldrup notched his 14th save in 17 chances. With the win, the Bison improved to 32-32.

A key moment came when Kota faced Chicago hurler Jerry Bamberg in the top of the eighth. The Bison, who were trailing 5-4, had the bases loaded. Kota got a 2-2 curveball and hit a 2-run single.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Kota.
