Millers Edge Past Eclipse, 4-3
|
The Milwaukee Millers outlasted the Chicago Eclipse in an extra-inning thriller.
The Milwaukee Millers picked up a win at Millenium Field, knocking off the Chicago Eclipse, 4-3. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Alex Solis, who played a pivotal role in the win. Steve Herring, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.
Milwaukee used the clutch hitting of Cecil Sauls to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Millers ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"This was a good win," said Sauls.
The loss drops Chicago to 2-3.
