Marauders Earn 2-1 Win Versus Earthquakes
|
The Maple Marauders got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mike Stewart, who stifled the San Francisco offense en route to a 2-1 Marauders win at Golden Gate Park. The win belongs to Tim Giannetta in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Bradley Bethlehem took the loss for San Francisco. With the win, Maple has a record of 36-23. San Francisco falls to 31-29.
Maple used the timely hitting of Ruben Alcaraz to capture the win. The third baseman socked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marauders ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Maple manager Daniel Dillon said.
