Millers Come Back Late to Top Marauders, 8-6
The Milwaukee Millers put one in the win column with an opening day 8-6 triumph over the Maple Marauders. The crowd at The Mandalore Complex watched Pat Lewis put on a fine performance. Milwaukee reliever Chris Wethington was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Josh Wahl. Doug Michael closed the door for Milwaukee, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Had Jared LaBorde not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, LaBorde hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Millers.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Lewis, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
