Fans of the Maple Marauders who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Maple win over the visiting Buffalo Bison, 13-1. Nick Cook started for the home team against Jim Wallace. Nick Cook earned accolades for his performance.

Cook made it look easy. He scattered 4 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 1-0.

"Nick was throwing strikes, locating well," said Maple manager Aaron McKenna.
