"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Montreal manager Johnny Vallance after the 2-0 loss to the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Weiss finished with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. In the postgame press conference, Cabo San Lucas manager Bob Alexander said Weiss "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
