Portland Blanks Havana, 3-0 Friday, September 21st , 2057 Portland Beavers fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Tony Perkis blanked the Havana Stogies, 3-0 at Waterfront Park today. Perkis stopped them on 2 hits while walking 3 and striking out 15. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Beavers skipper Shunso Fukuda said. "He was on top of his game in this one." This season Perkis has nailed down no saves with 280 strikeouts in 218.1 innings. He is credited with 12 wins and 11 losses and has a 2.68 earned run average.
