Injury Sidelines Nelson Amador for Season
Sunday, September 23rd , 2057
The Portland Beavers and their fans were rocked today by the news that star reliever Nelson Amador would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Amador was hurt in a recent game against the Havana Stogies while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. His doctors think that Amador will miss about 9-10 months.

This year Amador has no relief appearances with no saves, 13-13 season record and a 2.92 ERA. He has hurled 213 innings, given up 150 hits, struck out 311 and walked 71. Opposing clubs have batted .195 against the Portland reliever.
