Tornadoes Win at Eagle Rock, 6-2
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners home opener. Andrew Shackleton started for the home team against John Nauss for the Kansas City Tornadoes. The Ridge Runners were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-2, Kansas City. John Nauss, though, was impressive. J.P. Larson got credit for the save for Kansas City. It was his 1st of the year.
Kansas City right fielder Ramon Tapia helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Kansas City skipper Lewis Cannon.
