Power Powers Lions Offense
|
The Lerna Lions beat the Santa Clara Vampires, 15-11, at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS. Lerna left fielder Nate Power had the hot bat. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Devin Turner came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Picking up the save was Tom Goggin, his 7th.
Bob Adams, who is tied for 4th in the PRLL with a .568 on-base percentage, took Santa Clara hurler Danny Hulse deep in the bottom of the second. His grand slam home run put the Lions on top, 5-2. In all, Adams had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Power.
The wins continue to add up for Lerna. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
