The Santa Clara Vampires topped the Downsview Mustangs, 24-6, in Pete Rose Little League action at River Otters Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Santa Clara second baseman Ricky Ortega. Santa Clara reliever Josh Kelly picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ryan Grange took the loss. The Vampires improved their record to 28-25 with the win over Downsview.

Brian Carr, who is tied for 3rd in the PRLL in runs scored with 73, contributed to the Santa Clara win with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.

"We'll pocket this win," said Carr, "and then go after another."
