Powered by Hector Mendoza, the The Stinging Larvae downed the Wichita Storm, 12-4. Mendoza was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Larvae. Jose Angel earned the win, while 17-year old left-handed pitcher Tony Garcia took the loss for Wichita. Moises Gutierrez earned save number 1.

With The Stinging leading 9-4 in the bottom of the eighth, Mendoza batted against Wichita pitcher Pedro Salguero. Mendoza hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Larvae on top, 12-4.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Mendoza told the The Stinging News.
