Caribbean Commies starter Angel Rodriguez pitched effectively against the Easton Caterpillars at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 8-6 win. Rodriguez, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The win lifts Caribbean to a record of 1-4.

Caribbean first baseman Bobby Arceo contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Commies ahead, 3-0.

Arceo told the Caribbean News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
