Jeremy Owusu was a vital contributor to the 16-11 Santa Clara victory over Terra Linda. The Vampires first baseman went 1 for 2 with 3 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Michael Taylor got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Santa Clara, at 35-26, sits in first place in the Pete Rose Little League Alex Rodriguez Division.

With Santa Clara leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Owusu hit a 2-run single off Terra Linda hurler Bert Craver. It was the 87th hit of the season for Owusu and put his team ahead, 4-1.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Owusu told the Santa Clara Today.
