Yuma got a decent performance from pitcher Jose Mendez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Victoria Totems. Victoria won the Royal Athletic Park contest, 5-4. Mendez threw 8.1 innings allowing 5 runs for the losing team. The winner was David Gallegos in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jose Mendez took the loss. With the loss, Yuma is 0-6.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Varmits allowed the Totems to score the winning run.

"This wasn't a good win," said Ragan. "It was a great win."
