Juan de Gante had a good game, but he could not keep the Manchester Mooses from falling, 5-3, to the Thunder Bay Lighting at Lightning Grove. The Manchester right fielder hit 2 home runs in the loss. The win brings the Lighting to 8-2, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Manny Colon was 1-2 with a double and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs for Thunder Bay. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jorge Garcia. It was his 8th walk of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Colon told the Thunder Bay Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
