The Montreal Jazz had to reckon with Dallas Texans hurler Eric Engel. Engel, who is tied for 9th in the RCL in wins with 12, overwhelmed the opposition in the 9-1 Texans triumph. The 4th-place Texans now sit at 68-73.

Esteban Bermudez went 2 for 4 with a double for Dallas. The 32-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Roberto Vallejos. It was his 124th hit of the season.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Engel told the Dallas Observer.
