Sabercats Earn 4-3 Road Win Over Paradise Island
|
The Sedona Sabercats topped the Paradise Island Pirates, 4-3, in TML R action at Predator Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Sedona pitcher Carlos Aquino. In 6 innings, Aquino surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Jonas Diaz closed the game out for Sedona, earning his 1st save.
Sedona used the hitting of Rey Flores to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sabercats on top, 4-2. For the game, Flores had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Jorge Ávila.
The Sabercats are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 15 games.
