Barbados Beats Caribbean, 7-1
|
Barbados pitcher Pedro Gallegos had a large part in his team subduing the Caribbean Commies, 7-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Andres Scolari recorded the save, his 1st. Caribbean, at 1-15, is off to a dreadful start in 2066.
Hector Gonzales had a big 2-run home run for the Revenge in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Barbados leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Eddie Cabrera, who is tied for 7th in the RR in quality starts with 1, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Revenge on top, 3-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Gonzales told the Barbados Observer.
