The home crowd had a good time watching the Maple Marauders and Kansas City Tornadoes get after it.

The Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the Maple Marauders, 10-2, in Thurman Munson League action at Debris Field. Ramon Tapia pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Simon Slama, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 9-10.

Micah Goodwin hit a 2-run double off Eric Foley in the bottom of the second, which put the Tornadoes in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Goodwin had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

"They took it to us," said Maple manager Aubert Licci.

The Tornadoes improved their record to 69-79 by beating Maple.
