Eclipse Clip Earthquakes, 3-2
|
Chicago Eclipse starter Brendan Tucker turned in a sterling performance against the San Francisco Earthquakes, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. The save went to Jerry Bamberg, number 2 for him. The Eclipse now own a record of 82-67.
The Eclipse got a big at-bat from third baseman Jason Shannon. For the game, Shannon went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Chicago a 3-2 lead.
"Bottom line," said San Francisco skipper Bill DesMarais, "we didn't play well enough to win."
