Earthquakes Claim Late Win
The San Francisco Earthquakes topped the Kansas City Tornadoes, 8-4, in Thurman Munson League action at Debris Field. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and Enfield, North Carolina, native Justin Allmond. San Francisco reliever Alejandro Anaya picked up the win to move to 11-4. Tony Miguel suffered the loss. Josh Christie earned his 42nd save in 50 chances.

Gil Delk came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Delk.

The Earthquakes are now 77-76, while the Tornadoes fall to 72-81.
