Despite a fine performance by first baseman Tim Morgan, the El Paso Mavericks lost to the Bighorn Bison, 9-8. Morgan was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Today's win puts Bighorn at 34-42, while El Paso falls to 41-35.

The decisive blow was delivered by Vic Petley in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Alan Williams to win the game for Bighorn. The home crowd went nuts.
