Easton 7-3 Losers to Revenge
|
Tony Melendez was a major factor in the 7-3 Barbados win over Easton. The Revenge first baseman was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks. The winning pitcher was Andres Scolari. His record now stands at 1-3. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Revenge. The Revenge saw their record improve to 15-19.
Lorenzo Covarrubias had a big run-scoring triple for the Revenge in the top of the fifth inning. With Barbados leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Vadim Mysovsky, who is tied for 2nd in the RR in complete games with 1, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Revenge ahead, 2-0.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Melendez. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
