Starting pitcher George Soucy Jr. pitched well enough to help the Maple Marauders beat the Eureka Hornets, 5-3. The Marauders raised their record to 27-49.

Maple took a 5-1 lead on Efrain Ruiz's 14th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ruiz hit in the top of the ninth, left Eureka pitcher Jim Bess visibly frustrated.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Ruiz told the Maple Daily News.
