In a low-scoring game between the Bloomington Blazers and the Montreal Mounties, pitcher Jay Vincent was the difference-maker. The Bloomington left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Blazers win. Getting the save was Erik McKnight, his 16th. Bloomington is now 51-38, Montreal 53-36.

Bloomington catcher Paul Brew III contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Blazers ahead, 1-0.

Vincent said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
