Kelowna Makes Madison 4-3 Losers
|
Kelowna pitcher Zach Clark had a large part in his team beating the Madison Beehive, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Clark got the win, improving to 5-10. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 1st save for Kelowna was Luke Hopkins.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from left fielder Whip Dondale. For the game, Dondale went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Kelowna a 4-2 lead.
Clark called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
Kelowna is now 70-69.
