Romero Leads Lighting to Win
The 4-hit performance of Danny Romero helped the Thunder Bay Lighting beat the Easton Caterpillars, 9-1. Wynn Backstrom was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 17-year old right-handed pitcher Fidel de Arcos. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Moreno.

In the top of the fifth, Thunder Bay catcher Antonio Marquez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Marquez stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-0, Thunder Bay. For the game, he went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
