Fighting Iguanas Stumble Again, Lose, 7-0
The Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Prince George Cougars.

Prince George first baseman Jeff Smeltzer contributed significantly to his team's 7-0 win over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas. Smeltzer went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cougars. Eddie Flores was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was Ricky Gonzalez.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from right fielder Jack Geary. For the game, Geary went 1 for 1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Prince George a 2-0 lead.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Prince George skipper Sergio Martínez.

The losing streak has reached 9 games for the Fighting Iguanas. Manager Tomohiro Harada was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
