Miners Saddle Thunder with 8-5 Loss
The timely hitting of Jaheim Burke helped the Sylva Miners down the Key West Thunder, 8-5. Burke was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Miners. Sylva pitcher Alberto Gil earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Vicente Saenz suffered the loss. The Miners raised their record to 8-2.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Miners grabbed the lead when Burke hit his 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Vicente Saenz made it 6-4, Sylva.

"We take it day by day here," said Burke, "and today was a good one for us."
