Mooses Stymie Easton, Take 3-0 Win
|
The Manchester Mooses downed the Easton Caterpillars, 3-0, at Moose Head Stadium. Stellar pitching by Oscar Castro had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2063 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. With this game in the books, Manchester is 11-13, Easton 10-14.
Vic McFadyen had a big solo home run for the Mooses in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Manchester leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Steve Gilligan, who leads the RR in innings pitched with 40.0, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Mooses on top, 2-0.
"Oscar executed his pitches at a high level," said Manchester manager Rodney Beam.
