Lighting Rally Late to Nip Thunder
Thunder Bay parlayed a decent outing from starter George Main into a solid win over the Key West Thunder. The final score was 6-5. Thunder Bay reliever Jose Ramirez picked up the win to move to 1-0. Mahjoub Omariba suffered the loss. The Lighting have now reeled off 7 straight wins.

The decisive blow was delivered by Francisco Cabrera in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Mahjoub Omariba to win the game for Thunder Bay. The home crowd went nuts.

"George was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto.
