The Syracuse Orange Sox beat the Sylva Miners, 26-7, at Pickaxe Field. The Orange Sox got a fine performance from right fielder Mike Hanson, who went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 4 runs and drove in 6. The victory gives Syracuse a record of 23-8.

Chris Fitzmaurice helped out the Syracuse cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 7.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Hanson.
